The mountainous resort of Pamporovo is situates 10 km from Smolyan, 85 km from Plovdiv and 10 km from Chepelare, in the heart of the Rhodope Mountain range. Tourists come here mainly during the winter season because of the excellent skiing and winter sports conditions, but because of the beautiful scenery and the numerous natural and historical attractions nearby, the resort is visited during all other seasons. Almost all of the ski slopes of Pamporovo start from Snezhanka Mount and they have varying degrees of difficulty, providing perfect conditions for skiing. The proximity of the caves of Dyavolskoto Garlo, Uhlovitsa, Yagodinska, Waterfall Canyon, Momchilova Krepost, Krastova Gora, Asenova Fortress, the monastery of Bachkovo, Agushevi Konatsi, Shiroka Laka, Gela, Stoikite and other places of interest and attractions, is a prerequisite for the organization of interesting day trips. Pamporovo is a great choice for eco-tourism. The area is ideal for hiking, picnics, picking herbs and berries. In the resort area there is a bicycle park with various attractions for families with children and professional mountain bikers. There are bicycle lanes and trails with access to the ropeways. There are excellent opportunities for rock climbing, sport fishing in the large number of rivers and lakes, hunting, bird watching, horseback riding.
