Chalet Kom New

Chalet Kom New is one of the preferred chalets of Berkovtsa in the North-West Stara Planina. Located 15 km from the town, at 1506 meters altitude, it is a main home base for plenty of walking and trekking routes in the mountain. Chalet Kom New is also preferred by fans of skiing and winter sports as it is situated within near proximity to the ski center at the foot of peak Kom. It is very well maintained and provides various opportunities for active holidays in the mountain in any season.

Chalet Kom New has a maximum capacity of 120 seats, allotted in 36 double, triple and quadruple rooms and 2 apartments. In 17 of the rooms are provided private bathrooms, the other 19 share a bathroom on the floor. The apartments also have private bathrooms. The whole chalet is heated via a local heating system. The building has electricity and water supply. Near it are located bungalows with outdoor bathrooms and toilets. The additional amenities of the chalet include internet, restaurant, common kitchen and dining room, ample parking, children's playground, barbecue area, etc.

The main home base for reaching Chalet Kom New is Berkovitsa along an asphalt road (15 km). The trip takes 3.30 hours. Another staring point is Chalet Petrohan, along a marked trekking route for 3.30 hours. At half an hour on foot from Chalet Kom New is located the old Chalet Kom and in 2.30 hours may be reached peak Kom.

Close to Chalet Kom New near Berkovitsa is located a ski run - 1 km in length - with a ski wardrobe, ski instructors and a rope line. In the summer the area is perfect for walking and trekking along a plethora of marked routes. Chalet Kom New is the starting point of euro-route E3 - Kom-Emine. The visitors of this chalet near Berkovitsa may visit peak Kom, other chalets nearby, the Petrohan passage as well as organize picnics in the mountain, cycling trips, etc.
