Hotel Gela is centrally located in the village of Gela, which is a convenient starting point for all tourist routes in the region. The building in which the hotel is located today has been built in 1965 to serve as a school. Since the eighties of the past century the building functions as a hotel. Today Hotel Gela is totally renovated and refurbished and offers contemporary conveniences in an authentic Rhodope atmosphere.

Hotel Gela is a family hotel and every detail reflects the love and care of the housekeepers. The hotel may accommodate up to twelve guests in three rooms and one apartment. They are simply and elegantly furnished and enjoy a home-like coziness and warmth. The hotel has a beautiful spa centre with a sauna, jacuzzi, different treatments, professional massages and other services.

Hotel Gela has a comfortable ethno restaurant decorated with a unique collection of objects of the local art crafts. Part of this collection are a wooden table dating back from the 1795 and a frying pan from 1905. At the restaurant a local folklore group performs authentic Rhodope songs alive. The hotel owners provide attentive and personal service. They would also gladly discuss with their guests all requirements they might have prior their arrival at the hotel.

Hotel Gela is one of the best places in the region that serve organic and ecologically clean food. All meals served in the restaurant are prepared from locally bred and grown products and are flavored with healing mountain herbs. Here guests may taste the unique roasted eggs, patatnik, kachamak and klin. The hotel owners also have an impressive collection of teas from local mountain herbs as well as a rich collection of Bulgarian wines.

The only suite of the hotel is 37 sq. m. in size. It consists of two separate bedrooms, entrance hall, en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. In one of the bedrooms there are one big double bed, wardrobe, night cabinets, sofa. In the other bedroom there are two separate single beds, wardrobe, night cabinets. The suite is locally heated. It has a TV set with satellite channels.

The hotel triple rooms are 30 sq. m. in size. They are situated on the second floor of the hotel and all of them have terraces with views of the peaks Turlata, Goluyam Perelik, Orpheus. Each room has a TV set with satellite channels and a private bathroom with shower and WC. The rooms have local heating facilities and are furnished with three single beds, wardrobe and night cabinets.

The hotel twin rooms are quite spacious with their size of 30 sq. m. They are furnished with two single beds, wardrobe, night cabinets and a TV set with satellite television. They are heated locally and have private WC and bathroom facilities with shower.

The village of Gela has more than 3300 years of history and is deemed to be one of the cradles of the European civilization. The place is famous not only for its ancient history and culture but also for its favorable climate and its wholesome effect on people with ill white lungs. The region is also a home to unique plants and is exceptionally suitable for mountain tourism.

The village of Gela and its surroundings offer numerous interesting caves, natural phenomena, churches and monasteries, ancient Thracian settlements and holly places. The guests of Hotel Gela may choose from seven walking trails, fishing, picking of mushrooms, herbs and flowers, horse riding, agricultural tourism, practicing winter sports.

The village of Gela is located in the central Rhodope mountain at 1 500 m. altitude at the foot of the mountain's greatest and highest peaks - Golyam Perelik (2 191 m.), Orpheus (2 188 m.) and Turlata (1 825 m.). The village is six km from Shiroka Laka, 18 km from the famous ski resort Pamporovo, 30 km from Smolyan and 95 km from Plovdiv.
