The house-museum of "Petar Stanev" in Aytos has kept for more than 70 years exhibits from the history of the ancient city, and in 1984 a large permanent exhibition was established in the home of the Aytos artist which also includes an extensive section on "Painting". The museum collection includes old photographs, household items, weapons, etc., in total over 5000 objects, reflecting the life and past of residents of Aytos. The museum represents a restored Revival house - birthplace of the artist Peter Stanev with preserved stone walls and a heavy old gate. It is marked with a commemoration plaque. There are cultural events organized periodically here, such as Open Doors Day, which are of interest to the youth, exhibitions and other events, held on various holidays. In the collections of the Art Salon of "Petar Stanev" at the community centre of "Vasil Levski" there are works of generations of Aytos artists who left a mark in the cultural history of the town, such as the paintings of Zhelyo Zhelev, the doyen of the local painting - Georgi Popgeorgiev, Naivist painters like Yani Petrov and Todor Yanchev. A unique watercolour technique "wet on wet" is presented in the works of Nenko Tokmakchiev, oil paintings of Dimitar Tonchev and Slavi Kozhuharov, landscapes of Diyan Zheliazkov and works of the youngest artist - Dimitrina Murgova. The collection of funds in the museum of "Petar Stanev" also includes the works of two of the greatest artists of Aytos - Professor Dontcho Valtchev whose paintings are exhibited at the National Art Gallery and in private collections in Monaco, Paris, Milan, Rome, Venice, Japan and other countries, as well as his friend Krastyo Nedialkov. Here one may see the oil paintings of Prof. Valtchev "Princess Raina", "Girl", "Chengelievi", unique graphics of Krastyo Nedialkov from the cycle of "Masons", representing this craft as a modern trade in the 30s and 40s of the 20th century and his oil paintings "Ships" and "On the Shore."
